SFX's Toy Shop - Complete List
Hey gang, welcome to the Toy Shop!
As you can tell by the great threads about game play variations and future figures, Attacktix lends itself to creativity. I've had a few ideas rattling around for awhile and I thought I'd share them with you. Think of them as figure mods, but instead of paint & clay I'll use ones & zeros.
For those of you that like to see some awesome conceptual figures, just follow the links below for a good time!

Attacktix Contest V - Attacktix Republic Gunship
Attacktix Contest V is another creative contest! It's a contest that involves drawing - BUT NOT A DRAWING CONTEST.
Basically, I like to see your creations, and I am already backed up, trying to get Contest III to a scanner. So I found a neat trick to have everyone create a drawing ONLINE. Then you just save it. No need to upload/download. No imageshack or photobucket. NOTHING, but drawing and saving.
Which brings me to the contest. If you want to win a Gunship, draw me a picture of why you want a Gunship. You playing with it, you holding it. What you will look like if you had it. It can include a Gunship, or not. Doesn't matter. Be creative.
Then we will go to board voting again! All drawings must be done and saved by the End of September!
I hope we all have fun, and I can't wait to see your "drawings."
DRAWING PROGRAM CAN BE FOUND HERE:
http://artpad.art.com/artpad/painter/
You will have to SAVE and SEND when you are finished and be sure that my email :jojomanzo[@].nospam.yahoo.com:
Is included... (drop the brackets, and the ".nospam" that's just to prevent SPAM crawlers from seeing my address)

Attacktix Special Powers Breakdown
New Specials Added: I will remove speculation notes once the real figures/rules are released.
NEW Capture - You gain control of attacking figure for remainder of game if you have (Figure) in play. *Speculation - It seems you would gain control immediately, so if your figure with Capture is killed on your opponent's first attack, he could be killed before you ever get to control him.
NEW Force Push - Move an opponent's (Figure) four tix. It cannot leave the play area. *Speculation - Hasbro had to do a lot of clarifying for their rules in the first Series. So specifying the "cannot leave play area" is a very good call. Because I would love to force push opponent's off the table!
NEW Battle Cry - You may make an additional attack next turn. *Speculation - The matrix did not list a Figure to activate the Special Power. So either is it automatic, or not yet completed. But it looks like you can tack on another attack. So with an R2, you have the chance of getting FIVE attacks. Wow!
NEW Rescue - Return this figure to the starting area if you have another (Figure) in play. *Speculation - Sounds like a Recover power, but NOT in the same position. Remember to GRIND your figure before you stand him back up.
Attackback - Free move and attack for (Figure). Pick any figure on your team and move them up to maximum speed and make an attack. If you fire a missile, do not reload until the beginning of your next turn. See Example - Right-Click image and select Play to step through the tutorial.
Rally - Return another one of your defeated (Figure) into play. This can not be used to bring the same figure back to life, even if he meets the requirements. If no figures have been defeated, this can not be saved for later, nor can it be used for your backup figures. Grind this figure and place them two Tix from the starting edge of the table. See Example - Right-Click image and select Play to step through the tutorial.
Recover - Stand up your figure if you have (Figure) in play. Stand the figure up from where he has fallen/landed, not from where he WAS standing. If the figure fell from the table, place him two Tix from the edge from which he fell. GRIND this figure before standing back up. See Example - Right-Click image and select Play to step through the tutorial.
Recruit - Put (Figure) in play from your backups. This is a figure you did not start your game with, but you have available to bring into play. Grind this figure and place them two Tix from the starting edge of the table. See Example - Right-Click image and select Play to step through the tutorial.
Sacrifice - Replace one of your (Figure) with this figure. Choose another figure to place in your defeated pile. Put this figure in the same spot that the Sacrificed figure was previously standing. See Example - Right-Click image and select Play to step through the tutorial.
Shootback - Free attack for one of your (Figure) launcher. There is no free movement for this figure. After you have fired, do not reload until the beginning of your next turn. See Example - Right-Click image and select Play to step through the tutorial.
Vengeance - Remove one of your opponent's (Figure) if you have another figure in play. If the last member of your team dies, and this Special Power is active you can NOT use this ability. This eliminates the possibility of a draw due to a Special Power. Also, when using Vengeance, the defeated player's Special Power is NOT eligble, he is simply placed in the defeated area. See Example - Right-Click image and select Play to step through the tutorial.
None - The Emperor is the only figure without any Special Power, in Series 1. The Emperor's team does gain the effect of any Special Power from a figure he is Possessing. If the Possessed figure dies with while his Special Power is White, the Emperor gets to use that power.

Attacktix's "Ask the Expert"
Attacktix Tactics is back from vacation, and ready to update you with the latest Attacktix news.
I've gotten some new responses from Hasbro, on some rule questions that have come up in the forum. If you have any questions, please post them in the forum, or leave me a comment!
Q: Must you move all of your figures before you start attacking (i.e., does a player's turn consist of strict Movement and Attack phases)? Or can you move some or all of your figures after your first attack?
A. Yes, it is a strict Move all then Attack phase. The Gunship has made this tricky when you are actually moving it on the Attack phase, so you have to drop off a Melee guy right next to the target. But traditionally it is move all, then you have your two attack actions.
Q: Can the Emperor "UN-possess" a figure at will?
A: No, you can not unpossess/repossess anyone unless the Emperor is shot off the target and manages to still stand. This is the only exception. There is no unpossession rule stated in the rulebook. Note: If you DID possess your own figure it would be during the Attack phase, and you would have to wait until the next turn to move. So there is a NO Hitchhiking rule! Put your Emperor on the Gunship, instead.
Q: Must you always knock down both targets for a valid kill of a Mega figure?
A: This will come down to House Rules, as Megas are not tournament legal, anyway. However, Team Hasbro plays "a kill is a kill" and though the most effective way to take down a Mega is to use the intended targets, sometimes those clever and magically shots are not only funny, they work.
Q: If a figure is half on/half off the table, or the "out of bounds", is he dead?
A: Officially, If he can still roll a Tix he is alive. If any part of the base is lifted up or the wheel is hanging over the edge, he is defeated. Leaners are dead as they can not roll. But a good rule of thumb is that if his wheel is still fully functional he can still fight the good fight.

SFX's Toy Shop - Han Solo in Carbonite
It's been a while since the last Toy Shop, and being that this is the big #10, I thought I'd come back with some style. I'll keep the intro short and sweet. I give you...
HAN SOLO: CARBONITE
(original photos via Rebelscum.com)
How does he work?
The carbonite case is a 2 part, spring loaded, shell (front and back) that snaps together around the Han Solo figure. By striking or shooting the two targets on either side the carbonite case will 'pop' open, revealing a very dazed Solo. Han in the case has no movement, attack or special powers (for obvious reasons). You'd might want to house rule him thusly: If he is turned or falls when being attacked (rescued) return him to his original position. There is no bottom to the case itself, so perhaps there could be some soft rubber under the target area to prevent slipping & movement. He's pretty straight forward... but the best things in 'tix are.
This would be a pretty fun piece. You could use it to play a one sided game of capture the flag. Place Block-Head Han at one end of the field, guarded by Jabba and some bounty hunters, and have your Rebel team rescue him and bring him back to their side safely. Plus the carbonite case would be rather 'deep' to accommodate the large 'tix guns, so you could carbon-freeze anybody you like. On top of all that, you have a 'Tatooine Han' figure to play whenever you want.
Now, I know what you're saying, "But, SFX that carbonite case is way too big to fit into a booster!" And you'd be right. This guy could be packed in with the Jabba the Hut Mega. It could be sold in a special mini-pack with Leia in Bounty Hunter Disguise (I heard talk of wanting this figure on the Bounty Hunter Team... come on now! She never did any REAL bounty hunting!). Or (are you reading this Hasbro?) he could be offered as an exclusive mail away. That's right kids, collect those proof-of-purchases from you boosters and send away for your very own Han Solo in Carbonite figure. I have such fond memories of checking the mail box every day after school to see if my mail away Emperor had arrived... funny... it seems like I'm doing that now with Series 2, and the mailbox has become retail stores, and it's not so much fun anymore!
Well gang, that's it for today's Toy Shop. I hope you enjoyed. Join us next time for more fun.

SFX's Toy Shop - Darth Maul Mega
Yep, you read right... Darth Maul 'MEGA'! I've been really inspired by the Republic Gunship. That string tether is great. I was flipping through my photo hunting ground (Rebelscum.com) looking for vehicle ideas and came across Maul's speeder. As I've stated before, I like to work outside the box on these Toy Shops. Seeing the speeder got me thinking, "How could I make an Attacktix toy out of a vehicle with no weapons?" Well, see for yourself. I give you...
DARTH MAUL
(original photos via Rebelscum.com)
Maul has 2 main features.
1. Two targets, one on each side. They work just like the AT-RT's targets. When both are hit a small button will pop up under the base lifting the base off the table, similar to the Republic Gunship.
2. Two small missile probe droid launchers, one on each side. These launchers rest on clear stands and are connected to the base with extending/retracting string tethers, just like the tethers on the Republic Gunship. Both can be fired on each turn at 2 seperate targets.
8 speed / 60 points / Special power: Recruit (Darth Maul)
There you have him. I know... his droids never shot anybody. But neither did Nute Gunray and he's a launcher. Plus, I'm sure if Maul wanted to he could soup up his droids to give someone a bad day. In my design he originally had 3 probe droids, one in back, but that got a little crowded. 3 would be cool, but 2 works. I think that the freedom of the tethers really shows off the 'personality' of the droids. They zipped, zoomed and flew all over the place. They had a great range of movement. Once the speeder is destroyed Maul has can flip off the wreckage, ignite his double bladed lightsaber and take down some Jedi scum (if his special power is white, of course). Hmmm... perhaps I should've made the Maul on the bike a Force Jump figure. He could leap off and make attacks whenever he liked.
Well, that's all for today's Toy Shop. Thanks for stopping by.

SFX's Toy Shop - Sebulba
"He's a Dug. An especially dangerous Dug named..."
SEBULBA
(original photos via Rebelscum.com)
With the introduction of 'Kicking Obi-Wan' in Series 2 I got to thinking about other hand-to-hand combat figures. Since I like to throw you a curve ball with these Toy Shop's who better than Sebulba. He takes hand-to-hand to the next level... or would that be foot-to-foot? Who can tell with a guy that walks on his hands!
I wasn't sure what team to give Sebulba, none of the current ones work. An 'alien' team has been suggested here before. I feel that is a bit too vague. Heck, everyone in Star Wars is an alien if you think about it. Luke could even consider Han an alien because they come from different planets.
The Star Wars Miniatures game has a good team for those that fall outside the other teams- 'Fringe'. This one might be cool for Attacktix and since the company that makes the mini game is owned by Hasbro it might just work.
Or how about team 'Denizen'? A denizen is a person that lives somewhere. These odd non affiliated characters all have one thing in common, they live in the Star Wars universe. What team would you make up to encompass the odd-balls of the Star Wars Universe?

SFX's Toy Shop - AT-AT Mega
I know that at the end of the last Toy Shop I said that the BATTLE CASE ACCESSORY KIT: Death Star & Trash Compactor were up next. The construction on a Death Star, as you can imagine, is quite a task (darn Union labor). But, the guys in the Super-Huge-War Machine Garage finished their project first (and under budget), so I thought I'd share it with you.
With the impending release of the Republic Gunship a bigger and badder troop transport was a no brainer. I give you the...
AT-AT
(original photos via Rebelscum.com)
The AT-AT has 3 main features.
1. 2 large missile launchers. One on each side of the head.
2. 2 troop carriers (or "CHOMP"ers). One on each side of the body.
3. 4 targets. One on the outside of each knee.
The missile launchers work as you would imagine. It's head can pivot up, down and from side to side. The head can also rotate horizontally through 90 degrees. The neck is also articulated where it connects to the body giving the head a great range of movement.
The troop carriers can be detached from the main body. They are connected by retracting strings or tethers. They each have a 'toothed mouth' capable of opening and closing. They are used to pick up and move a figure anywhere within range of the tether. (All of these features are similar to the Republic Gunship).
Being that the AT-AT, or All Terrain Armored Transport, towers above the Republic Gunship I felt it had to surpass it in many ways. It would clock in anywhere from 80-100 points. On each turn you can move 2 figures and take 2 shots (one from each gun). This bad bear was near impossible to take down and since designing vehicles in Attacktix with tow-cables would be overly complex for this simple game I gave it 4 targets. The targets are somewhat small making it a challenge to take down, just like the 'real' thing.
